Marsia and Geri met while working at the Illinois Department of Transportation and have always maintained a professional and personal relationship. While collaborating on the development of the company, they discovered that they both valued their American Indian heritage. Thus Kaskaskia Engineering Group was born, named after the Kaskaskia Indians that first inhabited Kaskaskia Island. The company chose the symbol of the feather as well as the colors of blue and yellow to symbolize the birth of a women owned company.
